“Both programs were beautifully and tastefully done…Not only is your playing and music outstanding, but your grace and professionalism is a pleasure to work with.”

About Rhonda

I was always interested in sounds and music. My father used to make me whistles out of willow branches when we went camping in the mountains of the Northwest. I was a boisterous, happy child, loving singing and tap dancing. I also had a strong thirst to learn, to travel, to perform and write music.

Studying with Pulitzer Prize Winner Gunther Schuller in the summers inspired me to want to go to New York to study and a grant helped me to achieve that. Serving on the boards of several nonprofit arts organizations helped me to reach many like minded people.

I have toured all over the US with various chamber music groups and worked with diverse students, from Native American school children in Montana to the San Francisco Youth Orchestra. Performing with orchestras in other areas such as the Orchestra de Monterrey Mexico and the Honolulu Symphony showed me the universal appeal of music, across cultures and geographical borders. Meeting and working with San Francisco Bay Area colleagues inspired me to move to this area and continue my artistic growth.

When I walk into a performance venue, whether it is a brightly lit stage or a cozy home salon, I feel the presence of the audience awaiting my performance. My desire is to elevate our consciousness and take us to that mysterious place beyond language. A journey we must make together. The music that moves me the most is that shared with others.

“We have received many small notes to thank us all for such a lovely time and I thank you for helping us to present the afternoon’s event so professionally.”
